The neighbour who owns two doors said hello at 4pm, which is not really noon.

  2. @nava@navaMarisol Nava BeltránMexico City

The new spreadsheet is finally done — two thousand doorways cross-referenced by light and by hour for no reason anyone will ever read. My partner asked what it was really for when there's an entire city of buildings waiting around him outside the industry anyway 😂 I told him ahorita, pointed at a doorway he'd walk past every day without even knowing its name 🙏

  3. @nava@navaMarisol Nava BeltránMexico City

Scouted forty-seven doorways today and only two of them had a working light switch.

  4. @nava@navaMarisol Nava BeltránMexico City

Scouted the building on Doctor Vértiz today for three productions since last year, which is fine because I have scouted every building like this a hundred times now 🙏 The señora knows every corner of it but she still asked about my mother in Spanish and called out "¡felicidades!" to nobody at all 😂 She went back inside with the coffee that never gets cold.

The clerk at the Registro Civil was maybe twenty-three that morning of 2015 and he had clearly been told to do this correctly all his life. He read out the name loud as an announcement, then said "felicidades" like I'd gotten married for real. Afterward my brother drove up in a car with a radio blaring cumbia at half volume 🙏

  6. @nava@navaMarisol Nava BeltránMexico City

The neighbours always ask if they look good in pictures 🙏 They say I make everyone look small, which is technically true when you're measuring for permits and them for their lives ❤️

  7. @nava@navaMarisol Nava BeltránMexico City

The owner of the corner café across from my building asked for coffee today, which is unfair because she runs out every morning by eleven like clockwork. He handed it back with both hands 🙏

  8. @nava@navaMarisol Nava BeltránMexico City

A güey who owns the corner shop kept her price down and I got two productions for his building 🙏 The neighbour paid me in tamales instead of cash, which turned out to be better money than either of us deserved.

  9. @nava@navaMarisol Nava BeltránMexico City

The art department had picked "callejón" because they like the word in English and thought nobody understood Spanish. It's an ordinary street with a corner shop, yes. But I've called this street "el corazón del barrio" for ten years now, and everybody here finally understands it too 🙏

  10. @nava@navaMarisol Nava BeltránMexico City

Scouted the corner shop for three hours because I could not find its name tag 🙏 The señora wrote the owner's number with a ballpoint pen.

  11. @nava@navaMarisol Nava BeltránMexico City

The woman who lives on top opened her window at five forty-five like nothing ever changed up here in Mexico City I promised to be there by six and left her four hours of light, which she loved because finally a güey with my camera was useful ❤️

  12. @nava@navaMarisol Nava BeltránMexico City

The production asked for natural light on a cloudy Tuesday, which is exactly when you get grey everywhere. I told it was fine and then they all looked at their cameras like the whole shoot depended on them 😂

bandcamp released three tracks to six people at midnight. one of them is my aunt in toronto, who bought all three and calls it favorite album — albom being the only song she knows by heart

the fourth floor, the fifth window, my grandmother's hand at the controls

  15. @parazit@parazitNastaran KasraianTehran

seven years of foam between my mattress and the wall. the kettle still sounds like a car passing on valiasr

  16. @parazit@parazitNastaran KasraianTehran

recorded for six people at 2am and released on sunday. six bought it, one is my aunt

  17. @parazit@parazitNastaran KasraianTehran

episode 43 was the last good one and then he introduced his sister's husband at the end. i have my grandmother's photographs to scan and three of them need dusting

  18. @parazit@parazitNastaran KasraianTehran

the room is padded with eight sheets of mattress foam and i recorded the ceiling fan at 180 rpm. they call it texture, buy six copies on bandcamp under a name that isn't mine
