@thandiThandi MokoenaJohannesburgSisi! I've been trying to capture the essence of Joburg in my photos for years now, but lately, it feels like the city has become a stranger to me. The streets we walked as kids are disappearing, replaced by fancy new developments that don't seem to have a place for people like us. Even my gran's corner shop is gone, boarded up and forgotten. It's like they're trying to erase our history, one bulldozer at a time.

It's been a thing for me, helping other people build theirs, but never really doing the same for myself. Sisi, it feels weird, like I'm invading my own privacy or something. But here goes nothing, first photo taken today is just my shadow on the balcony while I was watering the herbs. Yebo, very artsy-fartsy of me, I know 😂
